Susan Matluck Westphal

Susan Matluck Westphal has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Susan started their career as an Attorney at Epstein Becker and Green p.c. from 2000 to 2005, where they represented employers in employment disputes and handled civil and commercial matters.

Susan then worked as an Attorney at Brody And Associates, LLC from 2012 to 2016, focusing on representing employers in employment disputes and handling all aspects of litigation. During this time, they also provided legal services such as drafting agreements, policies, and conducting workplace training.

In 2016, Susan joined Melissa & Doug, LLC as their Chief Counsel, where they played a crucial role in building the legal department from scratch and supporting the business in legal and business matters during a period of rapid growth and transformation. Susan provided guidance to key stakeholders and became a member of the Executive Team.

Susan's work experience also includes owning their own business, Scripted by Sue, since 2008, and serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Rubicon Technology from 2017 to 2022.

Additionally, they have been actively involved in the community, serving as the PTA Council Co-Chair for Gifted Services and School PTA rep for Workshop in the Town of Westport from 2010 to 2015.

Susan Matluck Westphal attended Riverdale Country Day School from 1978 to 1982, where they completed their high school education. Susan then went on to Tufts University from 1982 to 1986, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently, they attended The George Washington University Law School from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a focus on law.
