Michelle Meirelles

Michelle Meirelles has a diverse work experience spanning from 2011 to the present. Michelle currently holds the role of Diretora Financeira at Méliuz since March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Head of Accounting and Tax at Méliuz from February 2021 to March 2023.

Before joining Méliuz, Michelle worked at Laborum Contabilidade as an Accounting Manager from November 2018 to February 2021. Their responsibilities included managing accounting, tax, and human resources departments, analyzing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with Brazilian regulations.

Michelle also gained experience at FCA Latam (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) where they participated in the Young Leaders Preparation Program from July 2017 to November 2018. Michelle was selected as one of the 25 participants in Latin America and received training in various areas such as Design Thinking, Project Management, and Presentation Skills. Michelle also worked as the Head of Technical Accounting for Latin America from January 2016 to July 2017, addressing complex accounting issues and reporting directly to the heads of Finance in Brazil, USA, and Italy.

Prior to their time at FCA, Michelle worked as an Accounting Coordinator at FCA UK LIMITED from January 2014 to January 2016. Michelle also worked at Fiat do Brasil - Divisão Fiat Services as a Senior Accounting Analyst from March 2012 to December 2013, where they managed financial statements and led projects on accounting and tax activities reorganization.

Michelle's career began at Chartered Accountants where they worked as a Junior Accounting Analyst from April 2011 to January 2012. Their responsibilities included monthly accounting, tax reports, and payroll activities, as well as account reconciliations and internal controls.

Overall, Michelle Meirelles has gained extensive experience in finance, accounting, tax, and leadership roles throughout their career in various organizations.

Michelle Meirelles obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, which they pursued from 2006 to 2010. Later, in 2011, they obtained the CRC (CPA equivalent) certification from Conselho Regional de Contabilidade de Minas Gerais (CRCMG). From 2011 to 2013, Michelle pursued an MBA in Tax Legislation from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas, specializing in Tax Law/Taxation. In 2013, they completed a 6-month course on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from FIPECAFI. Additionally, in the same year, they participated in a 3-month course on Accounting and Finance as part of their MBA from Ohio University. Finally, in 2014 and 2015, Michelle became a participant in the IFRS Organization, studying IFRS Standards. In June 2022, they obtained a certification of submission from Even3 for the XIV CASI (Evento On-line).
