Schuyler Marquez

Grants Manager at Mellon Foundation

Schuyler Marquez serves as a grants manager. Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Marquez worked as a cultural anthropologist, specializing in the intersections between religion and global foodways. In addition to conducting ethnographic fieldwork with communities in Brazil and the United States, she taught courses as an adjunct lecturer at the City College of New York and New York University and completed postdoctoral research at Arizona State University. Prior to her academic training, she served as a program assistant at the Social Science Research Council where her work focused on promoting new fields of inquiry and enhancing doctoral proposal development and training.

Ms. Marquez holds a BA in anthropology from Mount Holyoke College and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from New York University.
