Greg Newbloom

Greg Newbloom is the founder and CEO of Membrion. Prior to Membrion, Greg was an affiliate faculty at Olympic College where they utilized a learner-centered teaching approach to engage a diverse population in entry-level engineering and chemistry courses. Greg was recognized by senior instructor for having the capability to “present somewhat dry material in an engaging manner” and for having “command of material expected from an experienced faculty member”.

Prior to Olympic College, Greg was the CTO and co-founder of PolyDrop, LLC. Greg founded PolyDrop on new technology developed during their thesis research. Greg’s day-to-day activities at PolyDrop focused on product development strategy, market analysis, building customer relationships, fundraising and engineering team management. Under Greg’s leadership, PolyDrop raised 1.5 years of non-dilutive operating capital (> $250k) through technical grant writing and business competitions. In addition, Greg coordinated a 9-person engineering team which led to high caliber product development that enabled a $1.1M NSF Phase II SBIR award. Lastly, Greg initiated 6 development projects with potential customers and transitioned 1 to an active and paying account.

Greg Newbloom received their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington. Greg also holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University.
