Valeria Cueto

VP, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at Memorial Health

Valeria Cueto was appointed to the role of vice president, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), in September 2021. This role also includes leadership of patient experience, physician experience and language access services. She is responsible for advising senior leadership on these aspects of the Memorial experience, with particular emphasis and expertise on EDI in helping to ensure Memorial Health achieves its mission and vision.

Prior to joining MH, Cueto served as executive director of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Illinois College in Jacksonville and diversity and inclusion coordinator at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, where she also taught English courses. She earned a master of arts in education degree from McKendree University and a bachelor of arts degree in English from Williams College.

She is involved with the Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network, Springfield Dominican Anti-Racism Team and Culturally Integrated Education for Latinos, as well as serving on the Sacred Heart-Griffin High School board.
