Robert Berninger has over 25 years of experience in plant operations and engineering within healthcare and academic environments. Currently serving as Director of Plant Operations, Energy and Engineering at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center since 2006, Robert manages the daily operations of chiller plants and HVAC systems across 10 buildings totaling 3 million square feet, overseeing a substantial energy budget of $34 million. Prior roles include Assistant Manager of Utility Systems at Columbia University, where Robert managed a central boiler and chiller plant, and Engineering Operations Supervisor at Montifiore Medical Center. Robert began his career as a 1st Assistant Engineer at Coastal Tankships. Robert holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College.
