Ford Powell, MD, FACS, FCCP, MBA has extensive work experience in the medical field. Ford currently holds the position of Chief of Surgery at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center, a role they have held since October 2018. Additionally, they serve as the Chairman of the Committee at the same institution.

Dr. Powell has also worked at Hoag Hospital, where they have held multiple roles including Committee Member Bylaws, Cancer Information Specialist, and Medical Director. Ford joined Hoag Hospital in August 2008 and held various positions until April 2018.

Ford Powell, MD, FACS, FCCP, MBA has a diverse educational background. Ford earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies from California State University-Dominguez Hills in 1991. Following this, they attended the University of Rochester, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1995. Subsequently, they completed a General Surgery Residency Program at UC Irvine from 1995 to 2002. Ford then pursued further specialization and completed a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco from 2002 to 2004. Continuing their pursuit of academic excellence, they are currently an MBA candidate at The Wharton School, expected to complete their degree in 2022. Ford has also obtained additional certifications, including a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School in 2022 and a Medical Doctor (M.D.) - Clinical Academic from the Medical Board Of California in 2019. Additionally, they received certification in robotic surgery from Intuitive Surgical Devices in 2009.
