Chris Wallace enters his 14th season with the Memphis Grizzlies and his second as senior advisor to player personnel.
Wallace joined the Grizzlies’ front office in 2007 and was responsible for assembling the “Core Four” of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Tony Allen, a quartet of players that helped lead the Grizzlies to seven consecutive playoff appearances (2011-17), the first postseason series victory in franchise history in 2011 and a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2013.
Before coming to Memphis, Wallace spent 10 seasons (1997-2007) as the General Manager of the Boston Celtics, where he had a hand in all basketball-related decisions, including free agent signings, trades and draft preparations. Prior to his time in Boston, Wallace served as director of player personnel for the Miami Heat following four seasons with the organization as a scout. He has also worked in various scouting capacities for the Portland Trail
Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks. In addition, he worked as a draft consultant for the United States Basketball League (USBL).
An avid basketball fan before breaking into the NBA, Wallace got his start in basketball in 1981 when he founded the award winning Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook
