Memphis School of Excellence
Amanda Ehrmann is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching mathematics and science at the middle school level. Currently serving as a 7th Grade Math Teacher at Memphis School of Excellence since January 2018, Amanda has focused on curriculum development that promotes research and advocacy. Previous roles include being an 8th Grade Math Teacher, where Amanda significantly improved student performance, and a 7th Grade Science Teacher at Memphis Rise Academy, fostering real-world connections in learning. Additionally, Amanda has served as a Campus Campaign Coordinator for Teach For America and as a theatre teacher for elementary students, emphasizing creativity and personal development. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University and a Master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Theatre and English from Brandeis University.

The mission of Memphis School of Excellence (MSE) is to provide a safe and collaborative environment which will cultivate the academic and social development of its students by emphasizing math, science, and technology for the purpose of students setting and meeting higher education goals. Graduates of MSE will have the tools necessary to positively impact their communities as they pursue their personal and professional aspirations. Memphis School of Excellence believes an effective and adequate education necessary for the citizens of the future relies heavily on a multidimensional academic curriculum in which all core subjects will be blended together through various teaching methods while promoting the development of a strong character that supports and respects society. We strongly believe that MSE’s mission statement and our outlined goals relate to the Shelby County Schools’ strategic plan which is based on student achievement, accountability, parent and community involvement, healthy youth development, safety and diversity.
