David Hopkins

David Hopkins is a retired partner at KPMG US, where they worked for over 34 years. During their time at KPMG, David was responsible for working with accounting standards, issue resolution, SEC rules and Sarbanes-Oxley internal control reporting. David also served as a quality assurance partner in KPMG's Business School-Audit. David's clients spanned across multiple industries, including financial services, manufacturing, and not-for-profits.

In September 2020, David transitioned to their current role as Director at Memphis Zoo, Inc. In this role, David is responsible for the overall management and operation of the zoo.

Prior to their work at KPMG, David served as a campus recruiter for Mississippi State University. David is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where they received their bachelor's degree in accounting.

David Hopkins has a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Mississippi State University - College of Business and Industry. David is also certified by the Kansas City Barbeque Society as a Certified BBQ Judge and Table Captain. Additionally, David Hopkins is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Lastly, they are certified by the Memphis Barbecue Network as a BBQ judge.
