Martin Surovčák

Martin Surovčák has extensive work experience in the field of technology and engineering. Martin is currently serving as the Platform Engineering Director at Phrase since December 2021. In their previous role as the Infrastructure Manager at Phrase from August 2019 to December 2021, they were responsible for managing a team of 8 engineers and handling infrastructure tasks using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Kustomize, Helm, and Gitlab CI/CD. Martin also led the migration from on-premise to AWS and aimed to achieve Kubernetes integration.

Before joining Phrase, Martin worked at GoodData as a Platform Engineer from December 2012 to December 2017. Prior to that, they served as a System Administrator at Wincor Nixdorf from August 2011 to November 2012. In the earlier stages of their career, Martin worked at Seznam.cz as a Product Manager Junior and later as a Sklik.cz administrator from October 2009 to September 2011 and November 2007 to August 2009, respectively. Their tasks at Seznam.cz involved client support, bug reporting, and project participation.

Martin's professional journey began at Konekuto o.s. where they worked as a Linux System Administrator from May 2009 to September 2010. In this role, they managed physical servers and virtual appliances, provided web-hosting solutions, and offered support for open-source publishing systems like Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, and Moodle.

Martin Surovčák attended Gymnázium B.Bolzana from 2001 to 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they studied Electronics and IT at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
