KARIMA El Hakim serves as the Country Director for Egypt and co-Director for Africa at Plug and Play Tech Center, focusing on fintech and supporting startups in emerging markets. With a robust portfolio, KARIMA holds multiple roles including member of the Economic Committee of Egypt’s National Council for Women, board advisor at the Egyptian Society for Mercy to Animals, and co-chair of the Leadership and Diversity Committee at AmCham Egypt. Additionally, KARIMA chairs the Egypt and co-chairs the African Chapter of the MENA Fintech Association, advocating for fintech policy and ecosystem development. Previous experience includes roles at Fawry and Falak Startups, alongside significant academic qualifications from institutions such as Sciences Po and The American University in Cairo.
