Iain Haslam

Principal Engineer

Iain Haslam has a diverse and extensive work experience. Iain currently holds the position of Principal Engineer at Menlo Security Inc. since 2022. Previously, they worked at Refinitiv, an LSEG business, where they held multiple roles. From 2013 to 2021, they were a Lead Software Engineer, working on low-latency electronic trading applications and Refinitiv's Analytics Data Platform. From 2021 to 2022, they served as a Senior Technologist.

In 2012, Iain worked as a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer & General Manager at LimitState from 2008 to 2012, where they developed numerical optimization software for geotechnical and bridge analysis. Iain also led the development of software for a Formula 1 team to create weight-minimized components.

Iain's earlier experiences include working as a Research Associate at Durham University from 2005 to 2008, focusing on numerical simulations of nuclear reactor containment vessels. Iain also worked at Golder Associates as a Software Engineer & Environmental Systems Modeller from 2001 to 2005, and at Capula as a Software Engineer from 1999 to 2001.

Iain Haslam's education history includes obtaining a PhD in Computational Mechanics from The University of Sheffield between 2005 and 2013. Prior to that, they earned an MSci degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham between 1995 and 1999.
