Aakash Shah has extensive work experience in the medical field. Aakash began their career in 2010 as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Kansas City Joint Replacement & Sports Medicine Center at Menorah Medical Center, where they also served as the President of Medical Staff. During this time, they were appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and later became a Board Member. In 2011, they joined the Miami HEAT as an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the NBA Combine. In 2018, they became the Chief Medical Officer at TrackMy Solutions while also serving as a Journal Reviewer for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Recently, in 2019, they took on the role of Medical Director at NFL/NFLPA Players Benefits.

Aakash Shah completed their Bachelor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2004. From 2004 to 2005, they pursued an internship in General Surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Following this, they entered a residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at the same institution, which they completed in 2009. In 2009, Aakash Shah also participated in a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine at the NBA Miami Heat - Miami Sports Medicine Institute, which they completed in 2010.
