Alyssa Cox currently serves as a Program Coordinator at the Mental Health Association since February 2023 and has also held the position of Clinical Coordinator. Prior to this, Alyssa worked as a Therapist at Time To Heal Counseling from November 2022 to August 2023, and as a Mental Health Counselor at the Community Psychiatric Institute from November 2021 to February 2023. Alyssa's experience includes serving as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Avenues Recovery Center from January 2020 to October 2021, and earlier as a Program Coordinator and Master's Level Counseling Intern at New Pathway Counseling from August 2017 to June 2019. Alyssa holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University (2015-2018) and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Purchase College, SUNY (2008-2012).

The mission of the Mental Health Association is to promote Mental Health, to improve the care and treatment of individuals with Mental Illness and to remove the stigma associated with emotional and Mental Disorders. We, as a community organization, accomplish our mission through advocacy, education, prevention, early intervention, treatment and service.
