Heather Levitt, LCSW has a diverse work experience that includes positions in the mental health field, as well as roles in media and communications. In 2006, they started their professional career as a Media Strategist at OMD, followed by a role as a Connections Associate at MediaVest from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they transitioned to the healthcare field, starting as an MSW Intern at Northwest Essex Community Healthcare Network. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as an MSW Intern at South Orange - Maplewood School District. In 2011, they became a Behaviorist/Social Worker at Community Access Unlimited, and from 2013 to 2015, they served as a Senior Prevention Social Worker at New Alternatives For Children. From 2015 to 2018, they were employed at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Lead - Integrated Behavioral Health. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Center for Behavioral Health & Riskin Children's Center at the Mental Health Association of Essex County, starting in December 2018.

Heather Levitt, LCSW completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations & Advertising at Boston University from 2002 to 2006. Heather then went on to obtain their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Rutgers University from 2009 to 2011. In 2014, Heather attended Hunter College where they participated in a Seminar in Field Instruction. Heather has also earned several certifications, including the School Social Work Certificate from the NJ Department of Education in February 2012. Heather became a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) through the Social Work Board of NJ in June 2011. Heather further advanced their credentials by obtaining the Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) designation from the Social Work Board (NY) in April 2013. Heather achieved their Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) status from the Board of Social Work Examiners in April 2015 and the Social Work Board of NJ in August 2015.
