Janine Genge currently serves as a Certified Mental Health First Aid Trainer at the Mental Health Commission of Canada since December 2022 and as a Program Coordinator and Mental Wellness Facilitator at the YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador, where Janine leads psychoeducational groups for young people experiencing anxiety, utilizing principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Practices. Janine's experience includes roles such as Assistant Campus Director, College Teacher, and Curriculum Development Specialist at Eastern Academy, where new curriculum for the Child and Youth Care Worker with Addictions Support Program was developed. Prior to this, Janine held various positions in the mental health field, including Team Leader and Child and Youth Care Practitioner at Key Assets (Australia), Mental Health Practitioner at Bright Bank Youth Mental Wellness Treatment Centre, ABA Therapist at Eastern Health, and Residential Counsellor at Shalom Incorporated. Janine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child Studies with a minor in Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University and a diploma in Child and Youth Care Worker from Eastern Academy.
