Andrea Smith

Andrea Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Andrea started their career as an Attorney at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in 2007 and worked in that role until 2018. Andrea then transitioned into the healthcare field and began working as a Care Partner at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2019 to 2020. Following that, they pursued their education and gained clinical experience as a Nursing Student at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they completed a Clinical Practicum from 2020 to 2021. Additionally, they completed another Clinical Practicum as a Nursing Student at Parthenon Pavilion in 2021. Andrea further expanded their medical experience through two more practicums, one in Primary Care at CROSSROADS MEDICAL GROUP, PLLC from 2021 to 2022, and the other in Psychiatry at VANDERBILT PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL, LLC from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they work as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Mental Health Cooperative starting from 2023.

Andrea Smith's education history begins in 1999, when they enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley. Andrea completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2003. Afterward, in 2004, they attended the USC Gould School of Law and obtained their Doctor of Law degree (JD) in 2007.

More recently, in 2020, Andrea enrolled at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Their specialization was in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Andrea completed their studies and graduated from Vanderbilt in 2022.

In addition to their academic achievements, Andrea has obtained several certifications. In November 2007, they became a licensed lawyer through the State Bar of California. Following this, in September 2021, they obtained their Registered Nurse certification from the Tennessee Department of Health. Most recently, in October 2022, Andrea acquired the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Andrea also holds the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification, which they obtained in July 2022 from the American Heart Association.
