Kiara Hunt

Kiara Hunt has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being a Supported Education and Employment Specialist at Mental Health Cooperative since May 2022. In this position, they accompany consumers to various meetings and trains and links them to employment opportunities based on their strengths and abilities. Kiara also multi-tasks consumers' needs, actively listens to identify obstacles, and develops individualized care solutions. Kiara demonstrates a compassionate response to consumer needs while maintaining healthy boundaries and collaborates well with their team members.

Prior to this, Kiara worked as a Student Mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America from February 2016 to May 2020. Kiara was assigned as a mentor to an elementary student, meeting weekly to develop a safe and trusting relationship and provide educational activities. Kiara also helped build confidence, leadership skills, and addressed any behavioral issues as needed.

Kiara has also worked as a Veterinary Technician at 5 POINTS ANIMAL HOSPITAL from April 2017 to August 2018. As a Dog Trainer at Petco from July 2015 to June 2016, they taught pet parents and their dogs basic obedience training and provided tips for housebreaking and better communication.

In addition, Kiara has experience as a Camp Counselor at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in July and August 2013. Their responsibilities included guiding children, implementing camp activities, and ensuring their safety.
