Tia Afzel currently works as a Clinical Rota Coordinator at Mental Health Innovations since October 2023. Prior to this role, Tia served as a Recruitment Operations Coordinator at Just Eat Takeaway.com from May 2021 to June 2023 and held various positions at Admiral Recruitment, including Recruitment Consultant and Talent Resourcer from November 2017 to March 2020. Tia's experience also includes mentoring roles at Trailblazers and ReachOut UK, where mentoring for young males in prison and secondary school settings occurred. Additional roles include a Receptionist at Virgin Active Flagship Club, Team Lead Manager at NANDO'S LIMITED, and internships at Street Child and Handicap International. Tia holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Westminster.
Mental Health Innovations
Mental Health Innovations (MHI) is an independent charity whose primary purpose is to research, develop and deliver technology innovations in mental health. The intention is to invest in innovations which have been co created by the ultimate users of the technology, in partnership with experts from the mental health and technology sectors. The development of new technologies is expensive and out of the reach of most charities. MHI will work to make new technologies available to organisations across the sector. MHI was established in November 2017 with a substantial grant from The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. In May 2018, MHI began piloting its first service, Shout, a 24/7 digital mental health text line for people in crisis. The service is available for anyone, anytime, anywhere. Trained volunteers, supervised by a highly skilled clinical team, respond immediately to people in crisis via SMS and instant messaging. Our volunteers and clinical teams all work remotely through the online platform, enabling us to recruit staff and volunteers from across the country.
