Racquel Assaye joined Mental Health Partnerships as the Chief Financial Officer in March 2021. She is responsible for providing insight and recommendations regarding the short- and long-term growth plans of the organization based on the approved strategic direction. Her efforts will include creating and establishing financial objectives, assessing and evaluating the financial performance of the organization, managing and nurturing strategic alliances with key stakeholders and overseeing the management and coordination of all financial reporting activities. Racquel has over 25 years of accounting, finance and audit experience, the majority spent in the nonprofit environment. In her prior roles, she built her expertise in implementing new systems and processes for greater efficiencies, forecasting and analysis for informed decision making and transparency in reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
Before entering the nonprofit sector, Racquel worked as a public accountant in her native country. This experience allowed her to hone her accounting acumen and forensic mindset as she had the opportunity to review different models of accounting practices across industries.
Racquel holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Andrews University and a Masters in Accounting from Drexel University. She is passionate about service and support to marginalized communities, equity in the job market for women, and education for girls. These passions are supported through board membership and other community service.
