Sheamus O'Halloran

Sheamus O'Halloran has extensive work experience in various technical roles. Sheamus is currently working at Mention Me as a Senior Data Engineering Technical Lead, where they build data pipelines using technologies such as AWS managed Apache Airflow, dbt, and GCP BigQuery. In addition, they utilize AWS Sagemaker for machine learning pipelines to derive insights from data and enhance referral power. Sheamus collaborates closely with data science and product teams to develop engaging products.

Prior to Mention Me, Sheamus worked at Sitecore as a Principal Software Engineer, contributing to the development of personalized experiences for customers. Sheamus'sresponsibilities included personalization analytics, audience segmentation, and utilizing technologies such as Java microservices, KStreams, AWS Athena/parquet, EMR/Spark, AWS Lambda, and Cassandra. Sheamus also served as an Engineering Manager for the personalization team, overseeing the architecture and development of the SAAS personalization platform.

Before Sitecore, Sheamus worked at Boxever as a Technical Team Lead, where they provided leadership for the technical team. Sheamus also gained experience at Telstra as a Technical Lead, leading projects involving the migration of telstra.com to Adobe AEM and the adoption of microservices on Kubernetes. During their tenure at Telstra, they developed core libraries for communication with VulcanD and led a multi-team effort for migrating to AEM.

Earlier in their career, Sheamus held roles at Planet Media Group as a Senior Android Developer, where they built applications for a telecommunications company, and at OpenJaw Technologies as a Java Full Stack Engineer, where they developed a backend system for package holidays using struts and Java.

Sheamus also worked at Avaya and Telstra as a Java Engineer and Java Software Engineer, respectively, and contributed to various projects involving web development and digital transformation.

Throughout their career, Sheamus has demonstrated expertise in data engineering, software development, architecture, and leading technical teams.

Sheamus O'Halloran attended Western Sydney University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Information Technology. In addition to their formal education, Sheamus also obtained several certifications in various areas of marketing and digital advertising from LinkedIn. In February 2019, they obtained certifications in AdWords and Analytics: Remarketing, Advanced SEO: Search Factors, Advertising on Facebook, Mobile Marketing Foundations, Optimizing Marketing Emails, SEO Foundations. Sheamus also obtained a certification in Online Marketing Foundations from LinkedIn in January 2019.
