Emily Decker

Head Middle School Swim Coach at Mentor Public Schools

Emily Decker has a diverse work experience history. Emily started their career as a Swim Instructor for the City of Mentor in 2008 and continued until 2013. Following that, they worked as an Intern at Lake Erie Ink from 2013 to 2014. Emily then became a Teacher at St. Nicholas of Tolentine School in Chicago from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, they took up multiple roles, including Substitute Teacher at Mentor Public Schools, Tutor at Huntington Learning Center, and Assistant Manager at the City of Mentor, Ohio. From 2018, they became a part of ACCEL Schools, initially working as an Elementary School Teacher until 2022 and currently serving as the Director of Academics. Emily also joined Mentor Public Schools in 2018 as the Head Middle School Swim Coach.

Emily Decker completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General at John Carroll University from 2010 to 2014. Emily then pursued their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching at Loyola University Chicago from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, they attended Walsh University and obtained an endorsement in Reading from 2017 to 2018.

In addition to their degrees, Emily also holds several certifications. In July 2022, they obtained a 5 Year Professional Early Childhood License (P-3), an Early Childhood Generalist (4-5) certification, and a Reading (PK-12) certification from the Ohio Department of Education.
