Basil Hashem

Partner at Mentors Fund

Basil Hashem is currently a partner at Mentors Fund. Prior to this, they were VP of Product Development at Yotascale from June 2019 to October 2021. In this role, they led product and engineering for an AWS cost management solution.

From October 2017 to October 2018, Hashem was an advisor to McKinsey, bringing their capabilities in big data, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to social good causes and ventures.

Before that, they were with Hasoob Labs, and before that they were with Mena Energy Ventures (MEV) from January 2017 to December 2019 as a product executive and senior advisor. In this role, they advised the private equity company in evaluating different business opportunities. Basil also managed and helped launch a consumer on-demand tech startup, Cafu, for mobile fuel delivery.

Cafu launched in October 2018.

Basil Hashem first earned a Bachelor of Science from University of California, Los Angeles in math/computer science. Basil then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Southern California in business administration and management.
