Elizabeth Thorp has a diverse work experience in various creative and educational roles. Elizabeth has worked at Meow Wolf since 2019, starting as a Fabrication Foreman before becoming a Production Manager in April 2020. Prior to that, they were the Fabrication Shop Manager at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design from June 2017 to January 2019, and a Fabrication Shop Mechanician from October 2012 to June 2017.
Elizabeth has also served as a Wood Working Instructor at The Crucible from January 2013 to April 2014, and at the Randall Museum from January 2013 to May 2013. Additionally, Elizabeth has worked as an Assistant Studio Manager at California College of the Arts for a brief period in 2013.
Elizabeth gained experience as an Exhibition Technician at Bay Area Discovery Museum from December 2011 to January 2013, and as a Model Shop Technician at Academy of Art University from July 2011 to December 2011.
Elizabeth has also held positions as an Educator at Aspen Art Museum in July 2010, and as a Teaching Assistant and Artist in Residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in 2009. Lastly, they had a role as a Cabinet Maker's Assistant at Bench Dogs Inc from August 2007 to September 2008.
Elizabeth Thorp earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. Elizabeth later pursued a Master's Degree in Fine Art with a focus on Woodworking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing their studies between 2014 and 2017. Prior to these higher education experiences, Elizabeth Thorp attended Hawken School, although the specific dates, degree, and field of study are unknown. In addition to their academic achievements, they have also obtained certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Red Cross and OSHA 30 from the Health & Safety Institute (HSI).
