Morgan Barnard has a diverse work experience in the fields of video design, teaching, digital art, and media design. They started their career as a Lecturer and Director at the Victoria University of Wellington School of Design, where they worked on digital media design and directed video documentaries. They also collaborated with Merge Conceptual Design on a lighting design project for the San Diego Airport.
In 2010, Morgan Barnard worked at Ghost Town Media, creating motion graphics and audio reactive visuals for the Linkin Park world tour. They also briefly worked as a Director/Editor at NFGTV, editing a program for the History Channel.
From 2011 to 2017, Morgan Barnard was an Associate Professor and Department Chair at Long Beach City College, specializing in digital media. During this time, they also worked as a Digital Artist at Ideum, collaborating on interactive digital experiences.
Since 2019, Morgan Barnard has been working as an Adjunct Faculty at Santa Fe Community College and UNM-Los Alamos, teaching courses in their respective fields. In 2020, they joined New Mexico Highlands University as an Associate Professor.
Currently, Morgan Barnard is working as a Video Designer at Meow Wolf.
Morgan Barnard holds a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University, which was obtained between 2003 and 2005. Before that, Barnard completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Film, Video, and Performance from the California College of the Arts from 1991 to 1996.
In addition to their degrees, Barnard has obtained certifications from Adobe. In June 2016, they obtained the Adobe Certified Associate in Print & Digital Media Publication Using Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Certified Associate in Visual Communication Using Adobe Photoshop.
