Charlie Cotton

Charlie Cotton, PhD, serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Cambrium since August 2020, where the focus is on innovative protein-based materials and next-generation fermentation methods. Additionally, Charlie Cotton acts as an advisor for biotechnology at Merantix. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at the Max Planck Society from April 2016 to May 2020, specializing in sustainable bio-production through novel formate assimilation pathways. Charlie Cotton holds a PhD in Structural/Synthetic Biology and a Master of Research in Structural Biology from Imperial College London, along with a BA/MA in Natural Sciences focusing on Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. Notably, Charlie Cotton has published nine papers in esteemed journals.
