Stefan Bunk

Stefan Bunk is the Founder and CTO of Vara since July 2018 and serves as a Healthcare AI Advisor at Merantix from September 2023. Previously, Stefan held the position of Machine Learning Engineer at Merantix from February 2017 to July 2018, where responsibilities included building core machine learning infrastructure and implementing various models in healthcare, autonomous driving, and finance. Other experience includes a Software Engineering and Data Science internship at HERE and a research assistant role at Hasso Plattner Institute, where work focused on entity linking libraries and optimization of business processes. Stefan holds a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in IT-Systems Engineering from Hasso Plattner Institute and completed high school at Gymnasium Brandis.
