Keisuke Umezawa

Keisuke Umezawa is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Mercari, Inc., managing data platforms and customer service initiatives since December 2019. Umezawa has a robust background in machine learning, having previously held roles such as Engineering Manager for Customer Support and Trust and Safety projects, where responsibilities included automated customer response systems and content moderation practices. Prior to Mercari, Umezawa worked at Preferred Networks, Inc., focusing on enhancing the adoption of the "Chainer" deep learning framework, and at AlpacaJapan Co., Ltd., leading deep learning model development for financial predictions. Earlier career experiences include software engineering positions at Yahoo! JAPAN and quantitative development at MUFG. Umezawa holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Informatics from The University of Tokyo.
