Alden Abbott is a seasoned legal and academic professional with extensive experience in antitrust and competition policy. Currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University since January 2021, Alden leads research initiatives in a prominent free-market oriented institution. Alden has contributed to the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law through various leadership roles, including participation on the Editorial Board of the Antitrust Law Journal. Prior roles include General Counsel at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission from April 2018 to January 2021, Deputy Director at the FTC's Office of International Affairs, and roles at the FTC's Bureau of Competition. Additionally, Alden has held academic positions, including Adjunct Professor at George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School.
