Gunay Kazimzade

Gunay Kazimzade Ph.D. is a Senior Artificial Intelligence Consultant at Mercedes-Benz Consulting GmbH since March 2023, and has run GUNAYKAZIMZADE.COM since March 2015, providing executive AI advisory services for government agencies, startups, and SMEs. With a significant focus on AI governance, policy, advocacy, and research, Gunay manages educational projects aimed at fostering international cooperation in AI. Previous roles include Artificial Intelligence Research Fellow/Applied Scientist at Zalando, Research Scientist in Artificial Intelligence at the Weizenbaum Institute, and Founder/Managing Director of TechCentrum Azerbaijan, which educated over 5,000 participants from underrepresented communities in AI and Data Science. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technische Universität Berlin, along with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University and The University of Bonn, respectively. Gunay has also served as a university lecturer and has experience in project management and software development.
