Ciaran Farrell

Ciaran Farrell is an experienced legal professional with a specialization in technology law and free and open source software (FOSS). Currently serving as Legal Counsel FOSS at Mercedes-Benz AG since January 2023, Ciaran advises on FOSS legal strategy. Prior to this role, Ciaran worked at SUSE Linux Products GmbH @Novell from 2005 to January 2023, focusing on technology law. Previous experience includes positions in licensing and legal consulting at Novell, management at Babelworx, and contract management at Infineon Technologies AG. Ciaran holds an LLM in European Law and International Private Law from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and an LLB in Law with German from Trinity College Dublin.
