Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is the production location for the GLE-, GLS- and the GLE Coupe Sport Utility Vehicles, as well as the C-Class sedan. In 2018, the plant produced more than 235,000 vehicles and our plant has built more than 3 million vehicles in its nearly 20+ years of production in the State of Alabama. In September 2017, Mercedes-Benz Cars announced plans to expand its production footprint in Alabama and the United States with a $1 billion investment for our second campus. The expansion includes construction of a new battery plant to prepare the plant to build electric vehicles at the beginning of the next decade.  MBUSI currently employs more than 3,700 Team Members.

The Engineering and Technical Team at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International (MBUSI) is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective production of vehicles, from planning and implementing assembly processes to overseeing IT systems and digital transformation initiatives. This team collaborates on various projects including the development and optimization of production standards, integration of SAP systems, and the execution of plant expansion and modernization efforts, such as the new battery plant for electric vehicles. Through a combination of engineering expertise and technical skill, they drive continuous improvement in vehicle manufacturing and support the company's strategic goals.
