Johannes Eckhardt

Johannes Eckhardt serves as the Head of Legal for M&A, Ventures & Finance at Merck Group since September 2021, having previously held roles including Head of Legal for Strategic Participations, Digital & Data, and Senior Corporate Counsel within the same organization. Prior to joining Merck Group, Eckhardt was Counsel focused on M&A, Venture Capital, and Private Equity at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP from September 2013 to August 2021, after starting as an Associate at the same firm. Earlier experience includes a Legal Assistant position at Linklaters and a Legal Traineeship at Oberlandesgericht Frankfurt am Main. Academic credentials include an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, along with degrees in Economics and Law from FernUniversität in Hagen and Goethe University Frankfurt, respectively.
