Walid Mehanna

Walid Mehanna is an accomplished data and AI leader with extensive experience in driving data transformation initiatives across multiple organizations. Most recently serving as Chief Data & AI Officer at Merck Group from May 2021 to June 2023, Walid Mehanna led the Data & AI Organization and chaired both the Merck Data Council and the Digital Ethics Advisory Panel. Prior roles include Group Data Officer at Merck, Head of Data & Analytics at Mercedes-Benz AG, and Principal in Business Intelligence & Big Data at Horváth. Walid Mehanna has also contributed as a Board Observer at Immuta, representing Mercedes-Benz/Daimler. With a diploma in Computer Science from Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and a recent course completion in Leading Innovation and Digitalization at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Walid Mehanna brings a strong educational background to a proven track record in data strategy, governance, and analytics.
