Alexandra Snyder

Alexandra Snyder, MD, serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Translational Medicine & Discovery Oncology at Merck since July 2025. Concurrently, Alexandra contributes as Voluntary Clinical Faculty at NYU and Bellevue since October 2019. Previously, Alexandra held the position of Executive Vice President and Head of R&D at Generate:Biomedicines from July 2022 to July 2025, with the title of Chief Medical Officer since July 2022 and an expanded role added in June 2023. Other roles include consulting at Two River and 76Bio, Inc., and serving on the board of Navigating Care. Prior experience includes a tenure at Merck from May 2018 to August 2021 as Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Global Clinical Development, and time at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. as Translational Medicine Lead. Alexandra’s early career includes significant contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an Assistant Attending and Fellow in Medical Oncology, alongside running a federally-funded translational research lab. Educational background includes an MD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Bachelor's degree in History from Princeton University.
