Chihui An is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in the field of organic chemistry. Currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Merck since April 2016, Chihui An has progressed through roles including Associate Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist. Previous experience includes a NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University from August 2013 to March 2016 and a Graduate Student Researcher position at the University of Pennsylvania from August 2008 to May 2013, where Chihui An developed a synthetic strategy for the first total synthesis of the potent cytotoxin (–)-irciniastatin B. Additionally, Chihui An gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at UC Berkeley in early 2008. Chihui An holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
