Colin Lam is an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck since September 2016, previously serving as a Senior Scientist. Prior to joining Merck, Colin worked at the University of California, Los Angeles from 2009 to September 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where contributions included research in catalyst design and reaction discovery utilizing advanced quantum chemical computations, authoring 13 papers, and teaching undergraduate organic chemistry courses. Colin has also mentored students at various academic levels, participated in manuscript reviews for professional chemistry journals, and co-authored significant grant applications. Colin earned a PhD in Experimental and Computational Organic Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, alongside a postdoctoral fellowship in Computational Chemistry at UCLA.
