David Detora

David DeTora is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Executive Director at Merck since June 1992. In this role, David leads teams focused on process and analytical development, as well as the commercial manufacturing launch for new biological products. Previous positions at Merck include Executive Director and Director of Global Development Quality, where David managed Quality leads and ensured quality strategy integration with program development goals. Additional roles include Director of Project Leadership, overseeing late-stage drug process development and launches, and Director of Worldwide GMP Quality, responsible for GMP Quality oversight and inspection management. David’s career began as a Chemical Engineer, specializing in laboratory and pilot plant chemical process development. Prior experience includes an Engineering Internship at American Cyanamid. Education includes a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
