Eric Carlson

Eric Carlson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science, quantitative investment strategies, and biomedical engineering. Currently serving as Senior Director of Global Data Science at Merck since August 2021, Eric has significantly advanced digital solutions in oncology and pharma through innovative forecasting and AI initiatives. Previously, Eric held a Vice President position at Goldman Sachs, where a large-scale research platform was architected for over 40 PhD researchers. Eric's background also includes roles at Philips, Weill Cornell Medical College, and Johns Hopkins University, encompassing project leadership in cloud analytics, research protocol development, and engineering for neural device prototypes. Eric holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
