Ian Mangion

Ian Mangion is an accomplished professional in the field of pharmaceutical sciences with extensive experience at Merck since September 2007, currently serving as Executive Director in Large Molecule Science & Technology, providing both technical and strategic leadership for vaccine and biologic development programs. Previous roles include Distinguished Scientist and Executive Director of Analytical Enabling Technologies, where Ian guided teams of analytical scientists in innovative methodologies, including NMR and Mass Spectrometry. Ian's early career included positions such as Principal Scientist and Associate Principal Scientist focusing on analytical chemistry and process chemistry operations, contributing to significant advancements in drug development and regulatory compliance. Ian holds a PhD in Chemistry from Caltech and an AB/AM in Chemistry from Harvard University.
