Serge Ruccolo is an experienced scientist with a focus on process research and development, currently serving as an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck since August 2018. Prior to this role, Serge held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University from October 2016 to July 2018 and completed a PhD in Chemistry at Columbia University from 2011 to 2016. During the doctoral studies, Serge specialized in the synthesis and characterization of novel zinc complexes, investigating their role in antibiotic resistance and their catalytic activity for carbon dioxide capture. Earlier internships at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich and Université de Strasbourg contributed to the foundational knowledge in chemistry. Education includes a Master's degree from École normale supérieure de Lyon and a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
