Taka Ichu

Taka Ichu is a highly skilled scientist with extensive experience in pharmacology and data analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist in In vitro pharmacology at Merck since June 2022, Taka previously worked as a Scientist in Molecular Pharmacology and Biomarker Discovery at Kojin Therapeutics from June 2020 to April 2022. Taka also completed a PhD at The Scripps Research Institute from 2014 to 2020, conducting research in Benjamin Cravatt's lab on the neuroimmunological roles of the lysophosphatidylserine metabolic pathway. Earlier professional experience includes a role as a Statistical Data Analyst at the UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre, where complex statistical analyses were performed on metabolomics data. Taka holds a Bachelor's degree in Statistics with a Minor in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria, completed in 2012.
