Bin Bai

Bin Bai is an accomplished professional in the gas trading industry, currently serving as the Head of Continental Gas Trading at Mercuria since July 2023, focusing on European physical and financial gas trading. Prior to this role, Bin Bai spent a decade at Uniper, where responsibilities included Vice President overseeing the Gas & Weather Portfolio Forward, managing a highly profitable trading portfolio with a multi-hundred million euro annual profit and acting as the largest risk position taker in the company. Earlier experience includes the position of Gas Portfolio Manager at Uniper and a role as Portfolio Optimization Analyst at E.ON Energy Trading SE, specializing in portfolio analysis and hedging strategies. Bin Bai holds a B.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and an M.A.Sc in Power Economics from RWTH.
