Gianluca Mancusi

Gianluca Mancusi is an experienced AI research scientist and engineer currently working at Mercuria since April 2025. Previously, Mancusi served as a postdoctoral researcher at AImageLab, focusing on Incremental Open-Vocabulary Object Detection. As a PhD student at Università degli Studi Modena e Reggio Emilia from November 2021 to January 2025, significant research was conducted in artificial intelligence, specializing in Multiple Object Tracking through deep learning techniques. Gianluca Mancusi also co-founded Bouncyloop, a startup aimed at developing innovative software applications, and worked as a senior software developer at Farosoft S.r.l., with a background in video game development. Mancusi holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence and a Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Informatica from the same university.
