Johannes Themel

Johannes Themel's work experience began as an Economic Consultant at Oxford Economic Research Associates. Johannes then worked at Enron as a Junior Specialist for Commodity Pricing. Following this, they joined Sempra Energy Europe as a Gas Trader/VP German Gas Market. After that, they worked at EDF Trading Limited as a Gas Trader. Johannes then moved to Gunvor International, where they held the role of Senior Structured Trader CEE, focusing on Natural Gas. During their time at Gunvor, they played a significant role in establishing the company as a leading player in European gas markets and developed a strong professional network. Johannes later joined Freepoint Commodities as an Energy Trader CEE. Currently, they are working at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. as a Senior Gas Trader CEE.

Johannes Themel received their education in the field of Economics and Political Science. Johannes first attended the University of Vienna, where they obtained an MPhil degree in Political Science from 1989 to 1997. During their time at the University of Vienna, they also had the opportunity to study as an exchange student at the University of California, Berkeley in 1993 and 1994, focusing on Political Economy.

Later, Johannes pursued further education at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). From 1998 to 2000, they completed both a Diploma and an MSc degree in Economics at LSE.

Throughout their educational journey, Johannes Themel focused their academic interests on the intersection of Economics and Political Science, delving into various aspects of both fields.
