K W Cheong

Chief Legal Counsel - Asia Pacific at Mercuria

K W Cheong has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. K W began their career in 1992 as a Magistrate, Deputy Registrar, and Coroner at the State Courts of the Republic of Singapore. In 1997, they joined the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore, as the Head of Contracts in the Singapore Legal Service. In 1999, Cheong moved to Shell and took on the position of Managing Counsel until 2008. K W then worked at BHP as the Acting General Counsel from 2008 to 2012. Currently, they serve as the Chief Legal Counsel - Asia Pacific at Mercuria, starting in 2012.

K W Cheong attended the National University of Singapore from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a degree in Law, specializing in LL.B. (Hons). Following this, from 1996 to 1997, they pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, earning an LL.M. (Hons) degree in Law.
