Paul Janish has extensive work experience in meteorology, with a focus on providing forecasts and analysis for various companies and organizations. Paul began their career as an On Camera Meteorologist at KCEN-TV, where they improved their forecasting and communication skills. Paul then transitioned to the National Severe Storms Laboratory, where they worked as a Research Scientist, conducting applied meteorological research and developing operational forecasting techniques. Janish later joined the NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center as a Techniques Development Meteorologist, providing forecasts of hazardous weather and enhancing the training program for forecasters and staff. Paul then moved to Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the Director of Global Commodities Meteorology, where they managed the weather group and developed a comprehensive product suite to support the bank's global commodities business. Janish then worked at JP Morgan as the Executive Director of Global Commodities Meteorology before joining Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. as a Senior Weather Analyst. Throughout their career, Janish has utilized numerical prediction models and other science-based techniques to produce skillful forecasts for temperature, wind, precipitation, and tropical cyclones.

Paul Janish earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Paul continued their education at the same university and obtained a Masters of Science degree in Meteorology from 1989 to 1991. Before pursuing higher education, Paul completed their high school education at G.C. Scarborough High School from 1981 to 1985, where they earned their HS Diploma with a focus on General Education.
