Peter Commons

Peter Commons is the current Growth Partner at Mercury Fund. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President Of Software Engineering & Madison Site Leader at Zendesk from June 2020 to June 2021. Commons also worked as the Member, Chief Data Officer Council at The Conference Board from May 2019 to June 2020. In this role, they worked with senior data office executives from leading companies and organizations to share leading practices and emergent thinking on data strategy and business strategy alignment, delivering business value to data consumers, how to best govern data, and technology trends and challenges. Prior to their work at The Conference Board, Commons served as the VP, Data & Discovery at Groupon from February 2019 to May 2020, and as the Chief Product Officer at SMS Assist, L.L.C. from February 2018 to January 2019. Peter began their career at Amazon in March 2005, where they spent 13 years working their way up to the role of Director, Global Product & Technology, Amazon Fresh before leaving the company in February 2018.

Peter Commons received their B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University and their M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
