Paul Betschart

Paul Betschart is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as the Technical Manager for the Strategic Programme Team at Mercury NZ since July 2017, Paul leads the engineering oversight for the refurbishment of the Aratiatia hydroelectric station, including the design and commissioning of substantial generators and turbine systems. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer, along with a background as a Materials Engineer at Industrial Technical Solutions Ltd, where Paul focused on developing advanced composite materials. Paul holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Materials & Process Engineering from The University of Waikato.
